Handmade Wood Fins from Pop.

I asked my grandfather to make a set wood of fins. This is what he comes back with. They are even Probox compatible. I was speechless. Then he took me into his wood shop and gave up all of his secrets. Thanks Pop!

023 Finished

I finally got this one done after a couple long nights. With this board I was focusing on light weight. This is a 6’3” round pin thruster at 19 1/2” wide and 2 3/8” thick. It weighs 5 lbs! Thanks to Larry at Probox for the beautiful fins!

This fundraiser went so well, I have decided to do this on a regular basis. Look for another one in about 6 months.

Congratulations Mark!

023 Color

Here’s the color I mixed for this one. He wanted a green, so I went with soft and muted.

Wave Riding Potential

This pile of goodness arrived yesterday. It was quite an experience driving down the BQE with it all on the roof of my car. Time to get busy.

024 Shoot

Willi Patton came by over the weekend to shoot a short about my shaping. So I pulled out a shortboard blank I’ve been saving for myslef. He packed my little room with lights and crazy expensive cameras. It was alot of fun. I can’t wait to see the edit.

Here’s his flickr set.
